I. Engineering and Filing Services for Additions to Existing Approved Class 'E' System:

1. Review proposed fire alarm additions to existing Class 'E' System for compliance with code.
2. File plans for additions with the New York City Building Department (ACP-5 non-asbestos form supplied by others and Building Department fee not included).
3. Conduct inspection and self-certify additions under new FA-1 program effective December 2, 1996.

II. Existing Fire/Building Department Violations and Fire Department Letter of Defects:

1. Review violation order or letter of defect.
2. Coordinate work required with Building Manager or applicable companies to resolve defects.
3. Inspect and self-certify or request for re-inspection of items corrected.

III. Retrofit of Existing or Engineer New System:

1. Survey building, prepare plans and bid package and assist in the selection of qualified contractors to bid on system. Review submitted bids with building management to choose the most cost effective package.
2. File the plans for the system with the New York City Building Department.
3. Pre-test retrofit or new system and, if applicable, arrange for final test by the authority having jurisdiction. Fire and Building Code Services, Inc.

1. Prepare schedule for competitively bid maintenance contracts for fire alarm systems and other building systems.
2. Review existing contracts and bills received for errors and over-billing.
3. Prepare study of maintaining existing systems versus retrofitting.

1. Arbitration, Civil or Criminal Court.
2. Environmental Control Board Violations
